Student Services

Everyone needs someone in their corner. At Rockwell, school counselors aim to help students answer four questions:

Who Am I?

Through considering social and emotional development

Where Do I Fit?

Through considering multicultural and global citizenship

Where Am I Going?

Through career and post-secondary exploration and planning

How Will I Get There?

Through academic and learning development

Our counselors spend time on individual student planning, including the Plan for College and Career Readiness,  the school guidance curriculum, and responsive services/dropout prevention activities. We strive to meet learners' identified needs and desires identified collaboratively by students, school staff, and parents or guardians.

The Rockwell Student Journey

Secondary School is a time of self-discovery and development, trying on different hats, striving for academic accomplishment, and planning for what comes next. We invest in positive outcomes for our students by investing in our relationships with each and every one of them. Forming a stable partnership of high expectations for each student, along with their parents and guardians, allows us to provide continuity to our community of support. When they leave us, we want them to know that they have the power to achieve their dreams because they have been well prepared, well cared for, and have all the tools they need for a successful and rewarding life.

Connected

A nurturing environment of trust and respect is the best predictor of good academic and personal outcomes. In particular, students moving up from 6th grade flourish in the Rockwell smaller classes where they are known and guided to reach their best as they move toward high school.

Safety

Our school environment creates a culture of safety and fosters healthy relationships among students, adults, and peers. Building positive relationships creates a partnership of stability between the home and the school environment that leads to fewer risky behaviors and more confidence.

Social-Emotional

Research shows that classrooms with higher emotional support lead students to make more effort to understand difficult concepts. A nurturing environment of trust is the best predictor of good academic and personal outcomes.

Extracurricular Opportunities

We ensure students continually challenge themselves and grow personally as we provide enrichment opportunities to develop interests and talents and gain a more comprehensive education. Whether through clubs, drama, athletics, choir, or drill team, students are active and involved at Rockwell.
